A new free plugin called Vibe AI, also branded WPVibe, lets you manage your WordPress site by talking to an AI assistant instead of clicking through menus. SeedProd, the company behind the popular page builder of the same name, released it as an MCP server for WordPress.

What MCP means for you

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants like Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor connect directly to apps and act on your behalf. Install the plugin, connect your site once, and any MCP-compatible AI becomes a co-pilot for your WordPress dashboard. You are not locked into one AI provider, and there are no developer accounts, API keys, or per-token charges to set up.

What it can actually do

Vibe AI goes well beyond drafting blog posts. According to founder John Turner, it can write and edit posts and pages, manage media, bulk-edit WooCommerce products, fix SEO titles and alt text across your whole site, clean up old content, and even design and build themes. Design changes stay in a private draft with a preview link until you approve them, so nothing goes live without your say-so.

Built-in safety gates

Handing an AI write access to your live site raises an obvious question: what stops it from breaking something? Vibe AI’s answer is to separate reversible actions from destructive ones. Reversible changes, like editing a post, go through automatically and keep a normal revision history. Anything permanent or destructive, such as deleting a user, permanently removing content, or uninstalling a plugin, stops and shows you an approval gate in the chat first. That gate spells out exactly what will happen and how many items are affected before you click approve.

The plugin also uses WordPress’s built-in Application Passwords for authentication and encrypts stored credentials, so you are not handing your main login over to a third-party AI tool.

Who this is for

Turner built it for the people already doing the day-to-day work on a WordPress site: bloggers, WooCommerce store owners, and the agencies and freelancers who manage sites for clients. It works on free AI plans, not just paid ones.

Vibe AI is available now as a free download from the WordPress.org plugin directory.
