Shoppers researching a big purchase often skip review sites and head straight to Reddit for real opinions from real people. WooCommerce now has a free extension that makes it easier to put ads in front of them.
What it does
Setting up Reddit Ads used to mean coordinating your ad account, a developer, and a separate catalog feed provider. The Reddit for WooCommerce extension folds all of that into your store dashboard:
- Connects your Reddit Ads account without custom code.
- Sets up the tracking pixel and Conversions API (CAPI) automatically, so Reddit knows when someone views a product, adds it to cart, or buys.
- Syncs your product catalog so Reddit can build Dynamic Product Ads from your real inventory.
- Flags data problems, like a pixel that isn’t firing correctly, before you spend any ad budget.
The extension itself is free to install. You still pay for ad spend directly through your Reddit account.
How to set it up
- Install the extension and link your Reddit Ads account.
- Check the Events Manager diagnostics to confirm the pixel and CAPI are firing correctly for View Content, Add to Cart, and Purchase.
- Sync your catalog and confirm at least 10 products qualify for Dynamic Product Ads.
- Launch two campaigns: one targeting relevant subreddits or interests to reach new shoppers, and one retargeting people who already visited your site.
- Leave the campaigns alone for 14 days before adjusting bids or creative. Reddit’s ad algorithm needs steady data to learn, and early changes reset that learning process.
Is this worth it for your store
Reddit says 84% of shoppers feel more confident about a purchase after researching it there, and the platform sees about 80 million searches a week. If your products are the kind people research and compare before buying, whether that’s electronics, hobby gear, or anything with an active community around it, this gives you a low-effort way to test a new channel without hiring a developer to wire it up.
